Wild Knowing ~Field-based Immersions

Wild Knowing

Field-based Immersions in Sacred Nature Connection

In the Colorado Rockies · In your own home landscape · Wherever the living world meets you

Wild Knowing is a home for field-based programs that deepen our capacity to listen to, learn from, and live in genuine relationship with the more-than-human world.

Each Wild Knowing offering is different ~ different themes, different formats, different doorways in. Some enter through nature mysticism and the long tradition of the sacred wild. Some focus on interspecies communication, animal intelligence, or the language of plants, weather, and stone. Some are single sessions. Some are multi-day immersions. Some are seasonal series that follow a place through its full arc of change.

What holds them all together is this: the land is the teacher.

Every Wild Knowing offering is built around direct, unhurried, attentive engagement with the living world ~ in real weather, in a real place, with nothing simulated and nothing abstracted. Whether you are in the Colorado Rockies with Deb or stepping into the landscape outside your own front door, the practice is the same: arrive, slow down, pay attention, and let the more-than-human world meet you where you are.

The work draws from sacred and relational ecology, nature mysticism, interspecies communication, and nearly 30 years of Deb’s professional field experience.

You do not need prior knowledge or practice. You need only a willingness to step outside and pay attention.

In-person programs held in Colorado ~ Boulder · Golden · Nederland, and surrounding landscapes

Virtual programs designed for your own home landscape ~ wherever you live

Public sessions, private bookings, and group programs are available in both formats

Who Wild Knowing is For

Wild Knowing programs are designed for:

  • Nature lovers longing to feel more fully attuned to the rhythms of the Earth ~ in Colorado or in their own home landscape
  • Seekers ready for immersive, hands-on experience in the field ~ not lecture, not simulation, not nature as backdrop
  • Anyone drawn to root their spiritual practice, creative life, or professional work in genuine relationship with the living world
  • Those already familiar with nature connection, ecopsychology, or spiritual ecology who want to go deeper ~ with a guide who has spent nearly three decades in this territory
  • People outside Colorado who want to engage in this work within the landscape they already inhabit
  • People who sense that the more-than-human world is trying to tell them something, and who are ready to learn to listen

Stepping In

Wild Knowing programs take many forms. Here is the range of what is offered across seasons ~ some in-person in Colorado, some virtual and home-landscape-based, some available in both.

Single Field Sessions ~ A complete, self-contained encounter with the living landscape. Full arc from arrival to integration. Three hours in-person · shorter virtual version available. No prior experience necessary.

Seasonal Series ~ A progressive journey of attunement as the season turns. In-person participants return to the same Colorado landscape over several sessions. Virtual participants return to their own home place ~ tracking its changes, deepening their perceptual and relational skills over time. The practice is the same. The landscape is yours.

Themed Excursions ~ Field programs built around a specific creative, literary, or spiritual focus ~ nature mysticism, animal communication, wild writing, and more. Each excursion uses a particular lens to open a deeper perception of the living world. Available in-person and virtually.

Full-day Immersions ~ Full-day in-person programs from dawn to dusk in the Colorado Rockies. Extended solo field time, a solo sit held by Deb, a shared meal at the field’s edge, and a ceremonial closing at the turning of the light. For those ready to step fully outside ordinary time.

Moon-Cycle Series ~ Four sessions timed to the phases of a single lunar cycle, returning to the same place at new, waxing, full, and waning moon. Available in-person in Colorado and virtually ~ participants tracking their own home landscape through one full lunar arc. Nature mysticism as lived practice, wherever you are.

Private Group and Solo Programs ~ Custom-designed sessions for individuals, families, wellness retreat cohorts, small organizations, and communities of practice. Available in-person in Colorado and virtually for groups in other locations. Inquiry-based booking.

A word on virtual Wild Knowing programs…

Virtual Wild Knowing programs are not nature content delivered through a screen. They are field-based programs that you bring into your own home landscape ~ the yard, the neighborhood park, the trail, the creek, the patch of sky visible from your window.

The structure is simple: Deb opens the session online, offers orientation, practice guidance, and the particular theme or inquiry of that program. Participants then step outside ~ alone, in their own place ~ and do the actual field work in their own landscape. The session closes with participants back online, in circle, to share what arose.

This format rests on a conviction at the heart of Wild Knowing: the more-than-human world is not located only in Colorado. It is present everywhere ~ in every bioregion, every season, every landscape. Virtual programs extend the practice to those who cannot travel, while keeping the work exactly where it belongs: outside, in direct contact with the living world.

Virtual programs require a willingness to step outside during session time. Any outdoor space will do ~ however modest. The land will meet you there.

        What You Will Receive

Every Wild Knowing program ~ whatever its particular theme, format, or location ~ is designed to cultivate something lasting. Not just an experience remembered, but a practice that continues.

Perceptual Attunement ~ Trained observation of seasonal patterns, animal behavior, plant intelligence, and the subtle communications of place. Learning to read what is already being said ~ in the Rockies or in your own backyard.

Embodied Presence ~ Movement, breath, and stillness practices that bring you fully into your body and into the landscape ~ where genuine connection actually lives.

Interspecies Communication ~ Practices of reciprocal, attentive exchange with the more-than-human world ~ humble, grounded, and rooted with the beings and forces of your particular place.

Nature Mysticism as Practice ~ Guidance in opening to the numinous in wild settings ~ the moments of recognition, belonging, and direct knowing that arise when we stop moving long enough to be met.

Ceremony and Seasonal Awareness ~ Simple frameworks for marking time, honoring place, and entering into the sacred rhythms of the living year ~ wherever that year is turning for you.

Spiritual Guidance from Place ~ Practices for receiving the wisdom that arises in wild settings ~ not metaphorical, but actual dialogue with the living world of your home landscape.

Integration ~ Each program includes practices, reflections, or materials to carry the work forward after the field time ends.

Wild Knowing is an invitation to step outside the clock of ordinary life and into the larger cycles that hold us all. Each program ~ whatever its particular shape, theme, or location ~ is a chance to remember yourself as part of a living, breathing world: creative, communicative, and profoundly generous to those who arrive with attention.

The land where you live is already in conversation with you. Wild Knowing is a structured way to accept the invitation that is always already being extended ~ here in Colorado, and wherever you are rooted.
